September Howard Hero: Crystal Kimball

News, Spirit

At the end of September, we were thrilled to award another amazing Howard Hero for the month. Crystal Kimball is a big part of our Adventist Health Howard Memorial nursing team and one we know is every bit deserving of this prestigious award.

Crystal Kimball was nominated by her peers for “Being A Force For Good”. This means that she is courageous, takes action and whether it is through her position or passion, Crystal works to impact our community for the better.” Her incredible attention to detail, excellence in nursing and so much more makes her such an asset to our team.

One of her team members recounted an incredible experience with Crystal and wrote, “Because of Crystal's attention to detail and excellent assessment skills, she was able to encourage the medical team to do more work up. Due to this, an underlying acute condition was discovered, and the course of the patient’s treatment was changed. Crystal is a wonderful patient advocate and will always go above and beyond to do what is right for her patients.”

Another team member wrote, “I have always known Crystal to go above and beyond as a nurse. She is one of the first ones to request items such as magazines, books, and more to help the time go by easier while the patient is here. Crystal even spearheaded ordering items for our dementia patients such as the busy board and baby dolls to keep them active while in our care. She is willing to go the extra mile beyond clinical care and take care of our patients emotionally. I love that her heart is always in the right place.”

Thank you, Crystal, for helping our patients so much with your excellence in nursing and your caring heart. You are a hero to them and to our team who you so deeply care for, work hard with and motivate! Thank you for being an inspiration to us all!
