In order to provide comprehensive healthcare for the whole person, we strive for more than just good scores on data sheets. We wanted to transform how healthcare is provided—and we’ve succeeded in ways recognized by the state of Oregon.
The Top Hospital in Oregon
The state-sponsored Oregon Health Authority runs the Hospital Transformation Performance Program (HTPP) to encourage and reward hospitals for improving the quality of their care, reducing healthcare costs and increasing patient safety. Of the 28 hospitals participating in Oregon’s HTPP, Adventist Medical Center ranked first—a distinction that came with a $22.3 million award so we can continue to lead our state into innovative healthcare improvements.
More than half that award was based on how well our coordinated, comprehensive outpatient care helps prevent hospital readmission.
Top-Performing Outpatient Care
Excellent outpatient care, with a whole-person focus, helps our patients live the healthiest, longest and fullest lives possible—with fewer trips to the hospital.
CareOregon awarded Adventist Health Medical Group the maximum quality incentive for 2015 because we met or exceeded all four quality measures:
- All causes of hospital readmissions
- Follow-up after hospitalization for mental illness
- Screening for alcohol/substance misuse
- Sharing emergency department visit information with primary care provider and other hospitals
