Health trend goes beyond traditional care

In the News
Daniel Ananyev, DO

“Rather than immediately prescribing a medication to a patient, I try to suggest more natural changes to diet and lifestyle as a first method to see if that will help,” says Ananyev. “Sometimes it just takes cutting out red meat, reducing the amount of certain foods you eat and adding more fruits and vegetables to improve a condition.”

Now more than ever, Portlanders are in the driver’s seat to navigate the medical care market and discover what services best fit with their needs and lifestyle.

Advancements in medical technology continue to unlock secrets to human health and change the landscape. It’s not just technology, however, but the evolution of how we think of care that’s changing the industry. Many physicians at Adventist Health in southeast Portland are taking a “whole-person” approach to care.

Integrative medicine is a combination of alternative and traditional care that empowers people to take control of their health so it makes sense for them. Going beyond physical care, integrative medicine explores the mental and emotional well-being of a person to heal the whole body, rather than just a physical issue or symptom.

The Portland Tribune recently spoke with Daniel Ananyev, DO, of the Adventist Health Medical Group – Cherry Park about integrative medicine. Read the entire article on the Portland Tribune website.
