It’s lonely at the top, but that’s OK—we at Adventist Medical Center can handle it, if it means giving our patients the best care.
And, according to a recent report by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in the United States, Adventist Medical Center is the only Portland-area hospital to be named a 2014 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures (The Joint Commission releases data a year behind).
Top Performer: A Distinction of Excellence
Adventist Medical Center earned this distinction for reaching and continuing excellent care in specific areas in the treatment of heart attacks, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care and stroke. In fact, it takes a score at or above 95 percent in each scoring category to earn a Top Performer rating.
Needless to say, the doctors, nurses and other caregivers at Adventist Medical Center are excited to be recognized in this elite group of hospitals. “We work hard in every area to be sure we are offering our patients the best care possible,” says Joyce Newmyer, president and CEO of Adventist Health’s Pacific Northwest Region. “Having The Joint Commission name Adventist Medical Center a Top Performer acknowledges that we are giving Portlanders top-quality care.”
More Than an Award
More than an award, though, being a Top Performer lets Adventist Medical Center’s patients know they are receiving uniquely excellent care when they choose Portland’s only Top Performer hospital.
“Our patients deserve our best,” says Newmyer, “and at Adventist Medical Center, they are assured they’re getting excellent whole-person care for their bodies, minds and spirits.”
